Temple Sinai of Bergen County is a thriving Reform congregation located in Tenafly, NJ, only seven miles from Manhattan. Our diverse membership comes from all across Bergen County. We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds who seek an invigorating Jewish experience.

We’re looking for someone with a passion and enthusiasm for Jewish education and Reform Judaism, who is motivated and able to connect and relate to both students and their parents. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to combine your knowledge of contemporary Jewish education with your creativity to generate and implement a vision for innovating our K-12 Religious School program. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Guide and oversee all Jewish educational and community building programs for children grades K-12 and their families, including the teaching of Judaica, Hebrew and other subjects important to the development of a strong Jewish identity.
• Serve as principal of Temple Sinai’s K-7 Religious School
• Guide and oversee all Jewish educational and community building programs for grades 8-12
• Supervise youth advisor and/or other staff working with teens
• Develop and implement innovative approaches to Jewish education and youth engagement
• Develop and implement family-based programming to engage parents as well as students in Jewish learning and living
• Work with and guide a Jewish education task force to reimagine Jewish education and youth programming at Temple Sinai for families, children and teens
• Build personal relationships with the young families of the congregation
• Work with rabbi, cantor, executive director and other professional staff to engage young families and strengthen their relationship with Temple Sinai
• Recruit students and families to participate in the Temple’s Jewish education programs

The Director of Congregational Learning reports to the Rabbi, with a dotted line to the Executive Director for administrative and financial matters.

Please note: all employees may be required to work on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
